Tom’s First Hoys.<\/p>\n

Qualifying tom was a dream come true so we was going to hoys just purely to enjoy the experience and to be able to show of a pony that has done so much for me. The Working in tom took all in his stride not fazed by anything.<\/p>\n

On the day tom couldn’t have pleased us more he was relaxed and gave me a lovely ride and managed to complete the set show perfectly. I was so happy with how tom coped with the atmosphere showing his temperament is 2nd to none having not done a great deal of ridden he is excelled all our hope and dreams.<\/p>\n

To be called forward in the top 11 was an amazing feeling but then as they counted down the line Tom was called forward to 6th place (joint 5th on marks). Incredible feeling and one I will never forget. This pony has achieved all dreams and hope possible at only 6 years old. He is now enjoying a rest in the field. Next year who knows what my plans are maybe lots of ladies but not sure what else my special pony has to prove.<\/p>\n

We took tom to a pre hoys indoor show at Croft Top he went on to win a fabulous class, then was to compete in our first Night performance under saddle tom loving every minute. Maybe a bit too much when he decided he wanted to go for 2 laps of gallop. We had to laugh as he was enjoying himself far to much but kept myself and audience entertained.<\/p>\n

Tom was entered for the Inhand for the National welsh but we felt after collecting his bronze and silver medals he has nothing else left to prove inhand. Not been ridden since June I rode tom the day before and decided to enter him in the Hoys Ridden qualifier at last minute at a cost of\u00a0\u00a350 mum was not impressed.<\/p>\n

To our amazement Tom went on to win the huge Hoys class on only his 2nd attempt this year we just couldn’t believe it.<\/p>\n

We just took Tom Thumb to the Royal welsh due to Touch of Class having to go through Colic Surgery<\/p>\n

He was 2nd in a fabulous stallion class and went on to be Reserve Male Champion \"Stallion7.<\/p>\n

We just took Janpete Tom Thumb to the North Eastern wpcs medal show on 14th May 2017<\/p>\n

He won the stallion class was welsh b champion, champion stallion supreme welsh champion and supreme of the whole show! Adding his bronze medal to his silver this year!<\/p>\n

Tom Thumb reigns supreme at Glanusk<\/p>\n

The 59th<\/span><\/sup> annual Glanusk Welsh Stallion Show, held at the Royal Welsh Showground on Saturday 6th<\/span><\/sup> May, drew in spectators from as far as the continent. Despite spells of cold winds this did not impair on the show with a great number of entries forward. The largest class of the day saw 21 yearling Welsh cob fillies forward.<\/p>\n

Out of 471 entries, Show President and Hon. Show Secretary Pat Lewis of the Penyffynon stud awarded supreme of show to Janet and Steph Mansfield\u2019s six-year-old bay section B stallion Janpete Tom Thumb from Cheshire, shown impeccably by daughter Steph. Tom Thumb was well mannered at all times, giving an unbroken show of free, forward movement from the shoulder every time. The last section B animal to take supreme here was Llanarth Da Vinci in 2014.<\/p>\n

Tom Thumb and his younger full brother, the palomino Janpete Del Boy (foaled 2012) which now resides at Gretchen Aitken\u2019s stud in North America, have both swept the board at this showground. Both have been youngstock champion here at the Royal Welsh show, and now both section B champions at Glanusk stallion show. Tom Thumb was youngstock champion at the Royal Welsh in 2014 and Del Boy in 2015. Both are sired by Tiavoric Legacy and out of Cadlanvalley Venus. Tiavoric Legacy is now gelded, and was shown considerably with great success in-hand and under saddle by the daughters of Tyngwndwn stud a few years ago. Interestingly Tiavoric Legacy is by Skellorn Choirboy which is a grandson of Brynpicca Butterscotch and also the g-g-grandmother to the reserve section B champion.<\/p>\n
